Catchy Email Subject Line

Subject lines are important as one sees them even before the mail is opened! It certainly draws the attention of the reader. Emails with poor subject titles are rarely opened as one is always short of time to go through all the mails, one by one. It is really an art to get a stranger completely drawn to your main content by an irresistible subject headings. Subject line of the mail demonstrates your communication skill. Mails with vague or irrelevant headings are ignored or deleted. Given below are few techniques by which you can make your subject titles, more attractive and irresistible to the readers.

1. Subject headings must be specific. It should be clear about its relevance. Think yourself as the reader and ask if you would really bother to read a mail after looking at its subject line. Give a brief description of the benefit of opening and reading the mail in the subject line itself.

2. It should relevant to the reader; after all, you can't sell ice to an Eskimo. People ignore mails that don't relate to them.

3. It must mention an action in it, like if you want the reader to reply, you should clearly mention "Please reply" in the subject line. If you need them to review the mail then you should write "Please review". If you want the reply by a date, then clearly mention it on the subject line.

4. A catchy subject line makes a promise. Make sure it is something desirable.Let the reader knows that there is something irresistible in the mail for them if they open and read it! We work for money. We work out in the gym to look good and have more energy. Likewise, people buy products for results, nothing else. By inserting interesting titles or sub-titles, you develop expectation in the recipient's mind.

5. Use power words. Words like-Exclusive, Shocking, Uncovered, Fast, Guaranteed, Amazing, Secret and etc. This will encourage people to read on. The above given words have psychological effects that appeal to the reader.

6. Be realistic in the email headings. If your subject line is like "Earn 10000000 million in 1 day", nobody is going to read further as it is impossible.

7. Never trick the customer. Lines like "Shocking photo of Maria Sharapova" may get opened but they don't serve the purpose of marketing and you will lose credibility in the long run.

8. Add a deadline to your email headline. Words like "for the next 10 hours" "Only for the first 10" etc. are very effective. Power words with deadlines are deadly combinations!

Try these tips; I am sure they will certainly help you.

3 Great Ways to Build A Viral List

One of the most effective ways to build a list and build it fast is by going viral. Essentially what going viral means is that you will establish a system where people continue to share your information or website with their friends and those friends share the information with their friends. What happens is that the information spreads like wildfire. There are a few ways that you can implement the viral effect for your website. I'm going to break down 3 of the ways you can go viral today.

StumbleUpon ads

These ads cost but you can get a great number of visitors to your squeeze page just by using it. This will be best used with a squeeze page. My advice would be to test your squeeze page for effectiveness before submitting it to StumbleUpon. Once you know that your squeeze page is effective then you can run a StumbleUpon ad and have 1000 targeted visitors sent to your website. If the users on StumbleUpon leave a rating for your squeeze page or website then this will boost your rankings in StumbleUpon and place your website in the constant rotation of StumbleUpon. Once in the rotation your site will be shown to the more than 20 million users. One fact is that StumbleUpon pages can receive as much as a million views a year.

StumbleUpon ads

· Fairly low cost

· Require a little set up work

· Could catapult your viral list

Go Promo It

This is a relatively new website. The way Go Promo It works is that you can offer discounts for certain products but you require people to post a special message on twitter or FaceBook before they can receive a discount. It's a pretty remarkable system. So a user comes to your website and wants a certain product. There is a GoPromoit badge next to the product that says 50% off. The customer clicks the badge which takes them to their Facebook or Twitter page and they leave a post which says "I saved 50% on Product X" through Go Promo It. There will be a link back to your page that anyone who comes across that customer's Facebook or Twitter page can see and link back to your website. This works well for products but can possibly be implemented for your squeeze page. You will just have to make your information downloadable with a coupon code because each user is given a coupon code once they post to their social network profile.

Go Promo It benefits

· Uses Facebook and Twitter posts

· Gets lots of eyes and back links to your site

Using a Viral script

My favorite way of going viral is by finding a "Viral Script". There are several viral scripts on the internet today. What a viral script does is require users to share information before they can receive information or a discount on a product.

Benefits of Viral List

· Lots of traffic

· Compound traffic

· Use friends to get more friends

An example of this would be that I am giving away an awesome free eBook but before I will grant a user access to the book they must refer the book to 5 of their friends. One great way to do this is to sell a product for a certain amount. Let's say we have an eBook that we are selling for $20, but if a user refers 5 of their friends we will offer that eBook for Free or at a significant discount. One such Script is Viral Friend Dominator. Follow the links at the bottom to see the script in action and learn how you can implement this strategy.

3 Awesome Steps to Profit From Building Your Email List

If you are starting out with internet marketing then you need to have an email list. Let me say that again, if you are starting out in internet marketing then your number 1 goal needs to be building an email list. If you are someone who has a website that sells anything then you need to build an email list. Its importance is huge. The basics of it are that when someone visits your website they will not automatically make a purchase from you. Only 1-2% of people make a purchase after their first visit. That is only 2 people out of 100. So you need to have an email campaign in place to keep in contact with the other 98 people who visit your site.

Entice the visitor when building your list

Whats important when building your list is that you put an opt-in form on your website that makes customers want to sign up to be a part of your email list. For one of my niche sites I was selling music. What I did was offered 3 free songs to anyone who signed up for my newsletter and people signed up by the ton. I have also seen people use free eBooks or email courses to get people to sign up for their newsletter. Whatever method you choose, you just have to make sure it's something that people want and that it's related to your niche. If you have a niche selling hunting gear and you try to give away a golf eBook then it's not going to be very effective. You may laugh at that last sentence but I have seen it done before. Put some thought and research into what you will give away when building your list and it will pay off later.

Build a great relationship

Now that you have the visitor on your mailing list you will want to start building a relationship with them. When building your list, remember that a relationship will translate to sales. You will want to send them email messages that connect with them and let them know that you are an authority in this particular niche and that you want to offer them good solid advice or give them tips that will help them. One thing that I did for one of my health supplement niches was to send out lifestyle tips that my subscribers could use in their daily lives to help them with a particular problem. For example, making your bed in the morning is a simple tip you can use if you have trouble going to bed at night. You see, this is simple but valuable at the same time and it prompts the person to take action. Let's say that one of your readers uses this tip and has a good experience with it. Now you have established yourself as an authority in their mind and they will start to trust you. This makes them more likely to buy from you and possibly tell others about you which helps when building your list.

Ask for the sale

After you have enticed your website visitor to become a part of your email list and you send them several email messages that offer them different value, then you will be able to ask for the sale. This is the final step and if the other 2 steps are done with thought and care then this one will be a winner. A study has shown that it takes about 7-8 follow up messages to build the trust needed for someone to make a purchase. So after you have crafted your first 6-7 email messages you will want to be ready to offer the customer your product. This email should spell out the benefits the customer would enjoy from your product and tell them what it can do for them. Once you spell out the benefits, you should entice them again by offering the product at a discount just for the customer being a part of your email list. This is a simple strategy but very effective. If you want to sell a product for $30 then mark it at $60 with a 50% discount exclusively to your subscribers so that it sells for $30. This creates more value. Remember that value is a huge part of the equation when building your list.

By following thees steps you will be on your way to a very profitable list. If you want to build a super profitable list, and build it fast you should check out Build A Huge List Now. This is the same course that helped me start building my profitable list and I now have several. This is the #1 Rated List Building Course.

Communication Is Key - Email Marketing

The times of lazy marketing are over - this refers to the mass delivery of your corporation's products and services to a large amount of contacts. This process isn't targeted or imaginative and will lead to failure. It can be costly in terms of the reputation of your delivery and will ultimately lead to unforgiving consequences to your online presence.

It is just as important to build and keep interaction with your existing clients as it is to gain new ones. The secret is to maintain a strong relationship with both existing customers and prospects by regular and relevant contact. Regular e-mail newsletters build a good reputation with your customers and maintain contact.

You can achieve engagement through a variety of ways. Delivering a company newsletter with valuable ideas, guidance and buzz news illustrates you are the 'friendly face' of your industry. For example, readers will regard you as a corporation that offers good advice and can help with any concerns that they may have. This association makes any future sales opportunities much easier. Press releases are a bit more formal, but can have the same effect as a newsletter.

You will also benefit from writing a regular blog, running contests and from social networking. These all encourage feedback, giving both prospects and clients alike, an environment to air views and exchange opinions. There is huge power in viral marketing. Comical videos and e-mails can be spread across the world instantly with the click of a mouse. If this relates to your corporation and services your publicity will rocket.

The steps above keep your company's name in the clients' mind, and as a result is great brand building for your corporation. Your competition will be doing the same so it is critical that you continue to nurture your connections.

The design of your e-mail is important. Ensure there is clear call to actions e.g. signing up to an e-mail newsletter, path to a webpage, requesting extra detail or a call back. A 'forward to a friend' link raises circulation and offers an opportunity for referral.

It works to nurture your clients, but reasonable ROI is only reached in time. A committed marketing team is essential to continue building this communication with your prospects and clients. It is to be seen as an important factor in a longer plan and can't be used as a speedy fix.

It is hard work to nurture and engage continuously with your client's but the investment will create a bonus in terms of an advance in brand awareness and eventually increased sales.

5 Reasons Your Emails Never Get Read

Regardless of whether you're sending an advertisement, a website link request or a business offer, there's a good chance your emails never get read. Email users opened just over 23 percent of the commercial email sent in early 2011, according to statistics from the Direct Marketing Association and Epsilon International. More than three out of four messages immediately hit the "Trash" folder.

Fierce Competition

Part of the problem involves competition for the inbox. A survey conducted in 2008 found that three out of five American small businesses primarily use email for holiday-oriented marketing, according to Constant Contact. With so many offers, newsletters, polls, notifications and other material arriving by email, it's tempting for people to press the delete key as much as possible.

Improving Your Results

Luckily, you can reduce the number of your emails that people never read by identifying some of the other reasons why this occurs...

1. Boring or lengthy subject titles: People see your email title first and won't open the message if it doesn't interest them. Some recipients' email programs shorten long titles to fit the width of their monitors; don't leave the interesting part to the end.

2. Poor "From" address: If the "From" address looks unfamiliar or questionable, some people will immediately delete the message. Use a short address like "admin@example.com" and set your email software to show your full name or company name as part of the "From" address.

3. Inadequate salutation: Another reason why your emails may never get read involves the very first line. People feel a greater obligation to read an email if it personally greets them, rather than using a generic statement such as "To whom it may concern," or "Good morning."

4. Poor message content: Even if people do open your emails, they might never read beyond the first few sentences. Misspelled, poorly-worded sales messages inspire little confidence in potential customers. It's worth hiring a professional writer or translator.

5. Incorrectly targeted: Regardless of how appealing your email titles and messages are, some recipients will never read them out of a complete lack of interest. Trying to sell snowmobiles to people in Belize or men's magazines to women won't yield any results.

The bottom line is that most of your emails will never get read unless they immediately attract the reader's interest, without having the appearance of "spam" or virus carriers. When possible, they must also cater to individual recipients by using names and providing content tailored to specific interests and geographic locations.

Net Effekt are the experts as far as email is concerned, they offer white label email marketing software to professional users who demand the highest possible level of deliverability and performance.

Are Free Autoresponders Effective?

The autoresponder is a necessary tool for any online or offline business owner. It does not matter whether you are an internet marketer or a local dentist, you can always increase your bottom line by using an autoresponder. The obstacle that many new marketers face online is the monthly fee that the top autoresponders like Aweber charge. Although these fees are minimal, if you a new and do not have cash, using a free autoresponder may be an option.

Disadvantages Of Free Autoresponders

There are several free autoresponder companies online like Sendfree that are pretty reliable. The drawbacks with using these free services are that you will usually have to allow advertising of other offers in your email. This additional advertising may cause your readers to be drawn away from your message or lower the deliverability rate of your message. If allowing advertising in your messages is not something that you can not accept then hosting your own messaging system is the other option.

Hosting A Free Autoresponder

Hosting your own messaging system can easily be set up through your website's cPanel. The self hosted autoresponder means that your messages will be totally free of advertisement. These types of autoresponders can certainly do the job for delivering your basic messages but they lack the professional feel that an Aweber provides. They will also lack the advanced tracking features.

One problem you may encounter with using free autoresponders may come in the future when your list begins to grow. Some of them offer free services in the beginning but will charge you if your list goes beyond a certain amount. As far as self hosted autoresponders goes, you will not have this problem, but you may have a cap on how many messages you can send in one message broadcast.

Many of the top marketers online use either Aweber, Get Response or Email Aces as their autoresponders. These paid services are well worth it if your plan is to market online as a long term business. They offer high deliverability rates, professional newsletter templates, unlimited autoresponders, and plenty of bandwidth for huge lists.

Upgrading Your Free Autoresponder

Many marketers choose to start off with free autoresponders until they start earning some income online which is smart. When they start earning or their list become too large for the self hosted or free services to handle they then chose to upgrade. This works well if you are already with a reliable company, but if not, you may have to import your leads to a reliable paid autoresponder service. The paid services do allow the importing of leads but only with a double opt-in verification. This means that you may lose some of your subscribers in the process.

The term "The Money Is In The List" is not a cliche; It is a fact. Huge optin email lists will secure your success online. Get the free guide to building your list to 3,000 subscribers in 30 days by visiting http://www.optinemaillists.org/.

4 Top Tips for Good Email Marketing

Email marketing is a great way to build relationships with your customers. Good communication can turn these readers into life-long customers that will become part of a loyal following.

Don't spend too long talking about you. In marketing, as in life, people who spend to long talking about themselves put other people off.

How many times have you avoided the call of someone who just wants to tell you what they have been up to lately and has no interest in how you are? You are not alone. With this in mind your emails need to be engaging to the reader. Don't just send them a list of all the things that you have been up to or have to offer them as they will either block your emails or un-subscribe.

Don't bombard people with promotional stuff so you can make money. If you just keep hounding people to buy things then you will have people running for the hills. You will need to deliver people information that they can use, find helpful or will appreciate. If you really must sell people something then use the 80/20 split method. Meaning that no more of the sales element of the email should be 20% and the other 80% should be information and advice that provides the reader with real value.

Keep the information easy to read. Long paragraphs, fancy words and complex sentence structures can make the reader confused and will put them off. Keep it to small sections of content will be easy for people to read. You can even highlight parts in bold if you want to make it stand out, but don't overdo it otherwise it will lose its impact.

The final copy might look disjointed but the main thing is that it is easy to read. Remember you are not trying to win awards with the way this will look, but deliver good content in a manner that is easy to digest.

If you are trying to get people to engage with you or perhaps sign up to a newsletter then use good call to actions (CTA). This lets people know that it is OK to email, call or sign up for more information about your services. 'Sign up for a FREE newsletter' is a great way to get people to enter in their email address which you can later use on re-marketing.

This should provide you with a foundation in Email marketing. There are plenty of other things that you can do in order to grow your business and many of them for free.

How to Build Relationships With Your Prospects Through Your Email Campaign

Just like any eBusiness owner, I am sure that your main goal in taking your business online is to boost your sales and revenue. This is something that you cannot achieve by just sending traffic to your website. In order to convert your visitors to paying customers, you'll need to earn their trust first. This is something that can be done by constantly communicating and by building relationship with them.

Launching your email marketing campaign will help you achieve this. Here's what you need to do:

Right after convincing your prospects to sign up to your email marketing list, send them an email thanking them for subscribing to your list. Give them a list of benefits that they can expect from you. Also, let them know how excited you are in having them as subscribers. Your enthusiasm will surely rub off on them and this is something that you'll find extremely useful and beneficial.
Be consistent. If you promise these people that you're going to send them weekly informative newsletters, make sure that you're going to deliver. Don't let them wait and never be late. Also, keep up the quality of your content so you can consistently impress your prospects. Also, I suggest that you write at least 4 emails in advance.
Help your subscribers. This is something that can really help you win their hearts and their trust. Find ways on how you can help these people. Go to forums or run polls to know the kind of information and assistance that they're looking for. Perhaps they're having a hard time pulling up their page ranking or maybe, they're wondering why they're not making money through their investments. Provide them with in-depth information, answers to burning questions, and solutions to their common issues. Do this consistently and these people will surely recognize you as the go-to person each time they need relevant information.
Inform before you advertise. Avoid sending your subscribers email ads too soon. If you try to get them to buy from you the first couple of times you tried to communicate with them, you can be assured that they'll unsubscribe from your list. If you don't want that to happen, you need to work on giving them reasons to do business with you. Give them proofs of your expertise, build great reputation in the online arena, and let them know you on a personal level.
Invite your subscribers to visit your blog or your Facebook page. Include the link of your blog and Facebook on each email that you send. Encourage your recipients to visit them so you can start real-time conversation with these people. Take time when answering their questions and have fun talking to them on a regular basis. If these people are responding to your call to action (they're liking your Facebook page, they're downloading your free eBooks, they're joining your polls, they're participating on your surveys, etc.), that's the best time to sell them your products and services.

When starting, it is best to list down the points one has to keep in mind when writing a newsletter. This becomes a kind of checklist to guide one when writing and it helps one from omitting any important point.

Keep the tips here in mind before you start writing your newsletter.

1. Know your customer

It is imperative to know your customer because they are the people for whom you are writing and the whole focus of your newsletter takes proper shape only once you know the customer and their likes and dislikes.

2. Keep the news happening and new

No one likes stale news. No one is interested in reading of events that happened a week ago. Always keep in mind people have busy lives and you have to ensure that what you write should be interesting enough to arrest their interest.

3. Keep research your top priority

Ensure that you take the trouble to do proper research and give informative articles, people do not want to read anything that talks about generalizations and there is very little content to the matter being written.

Also ensure that your language is reader-friendly and is grammatically correct. Writing incorrect and bad language will have no takers.

This is crucial to engage the interest of the reader and helps them connect to the newsletter.

7. Keep the interest alive by having contests

The reader always likes it, if they have a chance to win something or have their photograph featured for some article they have contributed or some achievement they have made.

This could be something as simple as a crossword or a topical quiz etc.

Everyone likes a good laugh, so always cater to the need of the reader to enjoy some light hearted moments.

Email Marketing Tips

We have all received the mass produced emails from companies trying to get us to use their products, and half the time we end up deleting them after reading the first sentence. Getting potential clients to read your marketing emails can be difficult. Here are some email marketing tips to help you reach your target audience.

Since the majority of people just skim the top of their email in a preview pane the best email marketing tip is to put your best offer in the top of the email or in the subject line. Make sure that there is something to catch their attention so they want to open the email completely. Tell them the deal right off; don't make them go searching to the bottom of the email to find out who you are and what you can offer them. The email is meant to give them your companies name and the deal that you can offer them; the boring legal parts don't need to be at the top.

To make sure that they see the emphasis on certain keywords make sure that these are easily readable. If you've got a promotion for 50% off, make sure that it's seen. Use colour, bold and larger font sizes to catch the eye. The human eye naturally goes to anything that is different and stands out, use this to your advantage. This also stands for any links to your site in the email, make sure they can easily find it so they go to your site or your email marketing won't work. No one wants to have to open up a search engine and try to find your site, give it to them in the email in large, bold print so they can't miss it.

One of the best email marketing tips is to make it personalized. Email users are more likely to read an email that is addressed to them than a general one that they can tell is sent to hundreds of others, we all want to feel unique and special. In the beginning of the email place their name, the human eye catches familiar words and our names are the most familiar to us. By personalizing the email you make your client feel special and not just a number. Any client will tell you that they go back to the places that treat them like individuals rather than just a statistic.

Email marketing can be one of the least costly and most effective marketing methods when used properly. Of course the use may vary for different companies, for example service based companies often may use email marketing as a way to demonstrate their expertise, building expert status and trust with their target audience. This approach helps to build profile so that when people are in need of these services your company is the first one that comes to mind and is already perceived as a reputable and proven expert.

5 Keys to Make Online Email Marketing Work for You

With the advent of the Internet and emails, online email marketing has become a key marketing strategy for small, medium and big companies. Marketing and advertising play an important role in ensuring the success of a product and a business. Without an efficient marketing plan to promote a service and/or product, the later life cycle will be jeopardized. Nowadays, the web has become a major marketing tool with online network marketing strategy playing a critical role.

Emails are now inherent to communication channels. It is considered as one of the quickest and most proficient means to remain informed of the latest news, products and services. For example, each day, people receive dozens of promotional emails. While there are many advantages to adopt email marketing, yet there are also various disadvantages that can be counter-productive. Hence, it is important for people and businesses to come up with the right online email marketing plan for marketing and promotional strategy to be a success. Below are five points that people should take into consideration when building an email marketing plan:

Firstly, online email marketing implies that the marketer needs to build an email list. The list is composed of individuals who might be interested in the product and/or service that is being offered. When building up a database of potential customers, we should target people that are likely to buy the product and/or service. Indeed, if people do not target the proper consumer groups, they will face the risk that their promotional emails will be considered as a spam and will go directly to the junk box.

Secondly, the contents of the emails are vital since they act as a mirror reflecting the product and/or service. When businesses opt for online email marketing, they should bear in mind that the emails are the first contact of potential consumers with the product and/or services. Hence, the email should be eye-catching and appealing to attract the attention of recipients. There are many ways that marketers can encourage people to read the emails such as graphics, images and other animations.

Thirdly, when referring to the messages conveyed in the emails, the content should be well written without any grammatical and spelling errors, concise and straightforward. Indeed, lots of people are not keen to read long emails and those scattered with errors. Such emails usually leave a bad impression for the readers.

Fourthly, the title and subject line of the emails need to be original and appealing to trigger the interest and curiosity of readers to encourage them to open the emails instead of deleting them. In fact, the email title and subject line will influence whether or not recipients will open the email. Indeed, on seeing the email in their inbox, recipients should be tempted to read it and thus the title and subject line should be evocative.

Fifthly, people who choose an online email marketing strategy should remember that when sending emails, the recipients might access through the preview window and handheld devices. Hence, when drafting emails marketers should consider all the diverse ways recipients might read the promotional emails.

4 Simple Tips in Using Email Marketing to Promote Your Business

It is actually that simple, you are already email marketing when you send an email message to a potential customer about your product or service. Business owners that utilize this method of marketing gain significant benefits such as an increase in sales, gain valuable feedback, increase your average order value, etc. This particular form of marketing will also provide opportunities to use certain techniques like up-selling and cross-selling. It is simple yet effective, so I will list and explain briefly some ways on how to use it to promote your business.

1. Build Your Email List

This is absolutely crucial if you want to benefit from this method of marketing. To build an effective email list, you need to get customers to join your email list. List down the advantages and offers that you will provide them when they join your email list, because they will not only learn what they can get from you, but as well as get an idea on what product or service you are selling.

2. Choose a Good Email Marketing Software Product

Things to consider when choosing a software product for this are its interface, effectiveness, available templates, compatibility, affordability, and features. You should look for a software product that will include professional templates and is less likely to incur errors. I also suggest that you buy the product with the simplest interface because you will be able to work more efficiently, rather than working on a hard-to-use interface where you will have difficulties finding certain functions.

3. Learn how to Compose Proper Email Messages

No one wants irrelevant email messages constantly being stored in their email address. Be professional, compose simple and concise email messages. I assure you that email messages with a professional feel to them will surely attract customers and you will make a sale. Remember, don't put in too much design and never spam.

4. Have an Email Plan

You should think of a schedule of when you are going to send your email to the users. For example, weekly newsletters, monthly newsletters, etc. This way they will know when to expect your email message to arrive and read up on the updates you have in your business. This is better than spamming, because if you spam the users with email messages, they are likelier to get turned off from your business than to get attracted to it.

To be successful you will need to implement a method and make enhancements and improvements until you are able to get your desired outcome.

Are You Deploying Smart Email Marketing Strategies? - How To Build Your List On Auto Pilot!

Are you using smart email marketing tactics in your list building campaigns?

The phrase "smart email marketing" was coined from the marketers who seemed to be able to build their lists effortlessly no matter what niche they were in.

Kind of corresponds to the phrase "work smarter, not harder."

Have you ever wondered how they seem to grow their effortlessly?

I know, I remember I used to think it was all a big conspiracy and that it would be impossible to grow a six figure list.

However, turns out these are ordinary folk who are just great marketers and using a secret email marketing tactic.

Want to know what that secret is?

Formidable sales funnel + Affiliates = Long term profits and a huge list.

You see, this truly is smart marketing at its best. The savvy marketer who grows their list exponentially in any niche simply deploys a formidable sales funnel that generates a high visitor value.

Having a high visitor value will not only increase your profits, but it will also attract affiliates into your funnel.

Having an affiliate program is also another core component of generating new leads into your sales funnel on auto pilot.

This sales funnel will naturally have affiliates wanting to promote for you as they can expect a good return on the traffic they send to you.

Now here's a little secret that will have your affiliates promoting you like crazy, yet it's so simple!

You see the best way to build your list on auto-pilot is to have others sending traffic to your site. This way you can follow up in the back end of your sales funnel and further promote to your prospects.

The key is to pay your affiliates on the back end of your sales funnel as well as the front end where the initial sale is made.

This means your same affiliate will get paid on each sale made to the prospect on the front end and back end of your sales funnel.

Affiliates love this. Traffic is their lifeline and they want to extract as much value per visitor they send to a promotion as possible.

This will ensure they promote your products and recommend your program to their friends. The more affiliates promoting for you, means more brand awareness.

Setting up affiliate programs is straight forward and can be outsourced if your not very techie or not very familiar with HTML or PHP.

3 Tips That Really Increase Your Opt-In Rate To Make More Sales

If you want to create a source of reliable monthly income that will allow you to grow your online income and reach your long term income goals, then you need to learn how to increase your opt-in rate so that you can make more sales.

When you have a large and growing email list you have an asset that you can leverage to make you more money on a regular basis. Having a warm, responsive email list is also an asset that you can sell with your website in the future, if you ever decide to sell.

It has been well documented that in order for a new prospect, or visitor to feel well informed enough to make a buying decision, they will need to see your marketing message anywhere from 5 to 7 times. This means that rarely will someone make a purchase from your website on their first visit.

However, by increasing your opt-in rate you will be able to make follow up emails to them to give them more information so that they are more interested in returning to your website. In addition if you are providing them with relevant and useful content, then they are also much more likely to continue making future purchases from you as well.

This is how you keep your income growing by keeping your opt-in rate high and your email subscribers happy with the content that they are receiving from you.

Increasing your opt-in rate is not difficult to do but it will take some testing and effort on your part.

When you focus on the long term benefits that you will gain, mainly more consistent income, then it becomes easier to make it a priority that gets your attention.

Here are some simple steps that you can take:

1.) Upgrade your opt-in offer. If you are currently offering a PDF or a report, look at having a video training course created or creating a short tutorial video training course yourself. Video is very popular and has a high perceived value, so it is very likely to increase your opt-in rate almost immediately.

2.) Have a special time saving program created specifically for your niche. By visiting a few forums in your niche you can get a good understanding of some of the most common problems for that niche. This can allow you to get an idea of what type of programs or products would be of value to them. If you come up with something reasonable to do then have it done and offer it as a gift in exchange for your visitors email info.

3.) Create and give away a very good product or program that you would normally be able to sell. Even though you may be loosing an upfront investment, when you look at the lifetime value of an average customer who may purchase from you many different times over during the course of a year, you will see that the small upfront investment is well worth it.

These are just a few simple ideas to help you get your creative juices flowing. I am sure that with a little creative effort on your part that you will be able to think of even more good ideas to increase your opt-in rate... and make more sales.

How To Set Up Email Campaigns That Work and Convert Prospects Into Buyers!

Want to know how to set up email campaigns that work and drive more leads through your sales funnel and deliver increased revenue?

To properly set up email campaigns that work and deliver results you need to keep your list building campaign/s specific to each sub niche that you are in.

This is key to building a responsive list and building relationships with your subscribers.

Trust me, I learnt the hard way.

Understanding your target market and tailoring your sales funnel and whole follow up sequence based on this is the strongest starting point for setting up email campaigns that work.

Let's say for instance I am in the "make money online niche", one of my tightly focused sub niches could be about "list building" (my favorite topic for debate).

Therefore when I add subscribers to my list, I want to tailor my follow up sequence specifically for those subscribers with an interest in building their own list of subscribers in their niche.

The point i'm trying to make is you need to make sure your follow up sequence is laser focused on your subscribers area of interest.

Adding subscribers to your list who are interested in email marketing and building their own list, and then sending them follow up e mails about making money online in general is a big NO NO!

Keep your follow up sequence laser focused. This will help ensure that your subscribers will open and read your e mails when they receive them and also improve conversions on the click through rates.

Also by understanding your target market and tailoring your email marketing campaign/s around their needs, you will also be placing yourself as an authority in your niche.

Another strong point to focus on is not to "burn out your list!"

Over promoting and continually doing ad swaps with your one finite resource (your list of subscribers), is a surefire way to damage your e mail marketing campaign.

Keep promotions to a minimum and try to only promote products to your list that you know will benefit them. If you are going to promote a product to your niche then try to ensure you have tested the product yourself and that you would be happy to recommend it to others.

Again don't cross promote niche related products.

To Set Up Email Campaigns That Work You Need To Keep Your Follow Up Sequence Laser Focused!

An advanced strategy there, but not one to be overlooked!

Email Marketing For Positive Or Negative Eyes!

All hail the email - still the UK's favourite channel! Even in a shiny smartphone and super social, savvy web world, over half of today's users still accept email marketing messages via newsletters as well as through social networking sites. The key to grabbing eyeballs and holding attention scans beyond the first half a dozen words is always to appeal to the positive and the negative reader type by posing a first question...

A recent industry survey once again confirms that over half of UK companies still rely on email marketing while just under 45 per cent are active in social media content networking. It is commonly accepted that it can still be a challenge to gain visibility in overcrowded inbox's and to attract a nanosecond of attention from recipients who will delete any mail not recognised or instantly seen as relevant.

However, an email message can still gain a step closer in the sales journey and it is for this reason that it is absolutely crucial to prepare thoroughly to increase positive response probability. Critical to today's multichannel, multi-disciplinary marketing strategies, personalisation is vital for precise targeting of a market database niche, using the language and tone of the recipient. But even more importantly, to be directly relevant by showing you know something of the issues of their sector and why your services / products can provide proven solutions to their own particular endeavours.

Your aim is to always prevent an instant delete by focusing on " what you can do for them and why", not talking about yourself, the success of the company brand identity and trying to make an instant sale - known as 'intrusive marketing'! The approach should be based upon the same principle that your own website content is created, structured and displayed.

Every word on an email counts from the subject headline and opening sentence to identifying yourself as being both legitimate - not spam - and worth the recipient's time to spend a few moments and glance through. As with social media messaging, the words should be conversational, friendly and straightforward and easy to quickly read. Getting straight to the point in the first few lines and keeping interest to scan to the next line can be achieved by directly engaging through active participation. This often means asking a straightforward question...

Recipients can often be categorised as "glass half full" or "glass half empty" types. By creating two different versions of the email to A/B test, analysis of response by the differing tone aimed at each targeted segment can help provide improved insight into improving reply rates. Thus, you may discover if your target responds more to a guide on taking positive action to gain benefits or instead, wants to know how to avoid pitfalls and taking potentially damaging risks! Furthermore, these approaches can often be interchangeable at different times in company cycles.

Either way, clear calls to action attached to clear direct links, which state the direct and relevant reason and benefit to the recipient for spending time to click and follow-up on your message is essential. Integrating email into a social media marketing policy can also help to set the tone and encourage a response.

If you hail the mail, they'll more likely reply!

5 Things to Do to Ensure Email Marketing Success

When it comes to internet marketing, email marketing is one of the most effective ways to increase sales of your products and services. Therefore, it is important for you to know the essential things to do for email marketing. Indeed, email marketing is not something new. However, it has transformed tremendously over the years. Email marketing is no longer about just sending mass messages to anyone who has an email address. When it comes to the "modern-day" email marketing, precision is one of the most important things to note. Choose a specific target and send a clear message to them. I will discuss about 5 essential things that you need to do to ensure email marketing success.

First thing: Make use of list building and plug-in tools that are available. It is indeed true that you may need to send multiple messages to different people but the content of the message may basically be the same. Therefore, it would be very costly and time-consuming to write individual messages that have similar content. By using the list building tools and plug-ins, you will ensure that the work gets done in a very quick and easy way that will not cost you a lot of time or money. These tools are able to respond to mails and also send messages automatically without the risk of error.

Second thing: Develop "eye-catching" headings for your emails. When undertaking email marketing, it is very important for you to have eye-catching headings that will make the readers more interested in what you have to say in the body of your email. You need to realize that your email recipients may be very busy, and therefore, your headings need to be very interesting in order to get even a slight attention from them.

Third thing: Have the 'call to action' option. In any message that you send, there has to be a statement where you ask your readers to take some action, whether to buy a product or visit a site. It is very important to make your "call to action' passionate and realistic your readers.

Fourth thing: Give away something for free. In order for you to really "look serious" in the eyes of your readers, you must first of all be willing to give something away for free. A good example of a free give-away can be an e-book or some other free registration offer.

Fifth thing: Gauge the results of several emails and consider which ones give you the most results.Remember to use different formatting and content styles, and use those that give you the highest success as your "standard" templates.

Tips for Effective Email Marketing Messaging

Email marketing is one of the most effective ways of ensuring that you get to your target audience with the message that you have intended for them. To stand out from the competition, you need to develop specific strategies to make an impact on your campaigns. Therefore, it is extremely important that you have that "x-factor" which makes your audience want to listen to you more seriously. So, what exactly are some tips for you to have an effective email marketing campaign?

The first tip is to be able to grab the attention of your audience and one way to do so is to have a flashy heading for your email. However, you need to put in some thoughts for your subject heading as it is important for you to be as realistic as possible. Your heading must not be irrelevant or else, your message will seem to be like a fraud to your readers. Therefore, it is critical that you create a heading that can catch attention but still is still consistent with your messaging. In having a powerful and quality heading, you are in your first step of success and are bound to have a lot of positive results on your campaigns.

The next tip is to consider about the content of your messages carefully.Remember that you are marketing a product or service that people may not have any knowledge about, and therefore, may not be very interested in the topic. It is upon you to develop a very precise message that is short but detailed enough to give the audience a reason to get interested in your products or services. When it comes to content of your message, make sure that you mention important things like price, quantity or quality of the product or service, and the importance or benefits of using the product or service. The message must always be as short as possible but it should be aimed at giving out all the most important aspects of the product or service which you are marketing.

The last tip is that you need to know that there are several tools that can be used in email marketing that can help you to perform multiple tasks concurrently and at a cheap cost. Link building tools and plug-ins are some of the tools that can help you to send out a lot of emails to multiple addresses concurrently and these tools are relatively cheap. Therefore, it is always important for you to be updated with the latest technologies which will help you obtain greater success with email marketing. If you follow the above-mentioned tips in your email marketing, you are guaranteed to have great success by using very little time and money.

3 Interesting Ways SMS Supports Email Marketing

SMS marketing is a cost effective way to reach customers in a very short time frame.

Most of us keep our mobile phones within arm's reach and check new messages within minutes. So it's no wonder SMS marketing is now a popular way for marketers to connect with customers.

But have you ever considered how SMS can actually support your other communication channels, such as email? Here are three ideas to get you thinking how your SMS and email activities can work together to grow, maintain and engage your customer base.

1. Email acquisition

Web forms are a great way of capturing new subscriber details to your database, but they're not the only way. You can also do it via SMS with something called virtual numbers.

Virtual numbers are a mobile phone number that is connected to your database instead of a handset. So if someone sends a message to your virtual number, it is captured directly within your database. Virtual numbers are extremely effective for offline email acquisition campaigns as they provide a simple, familiar way for people to submit their email address.

You simply ask people to SMS their email address to your virtual number and they become instantly subscribed to your database. This is a very popular method with offline competitions aimed at growing your email database.

2. Update bounced customer emails

Before deleting a customer's record from your database because their email address has bounced, try contacting them by SMS. Tell them you've tried sending them an email about "xyz" and that it has bounced. And ask them to reply with their current email address.

This is where technology becomes your best friend too, because email and SMS marketing software platforms can automatically capture your customer's reply SMS and update your database with the new email address. You can even automatically re-send your original email message to your customer's new address, so this whole process can happen in close to real time without you even lifting a finger.

3. Engage email subscribers

Integrating SMS with email as part of a promotional campaign can be a very effective way to capture people's attention, particularly when people aren't reading your emails. Consider this example SMS message that seeks to drive people back to their email inbox to register for an event.

Matthew, last chance to register for our webinar. Registration closes tomorrow. See your inbox for more & hope to see you there. Reply stop to unsubscribe.

With the right targeting, these sorts of messages can work really well to entice people towards opening your email and following through on your call to action.

How an Email Newsletter Could Benefit Your Business

Custom-designed HTML email newsletters can be a really effective and economical method of reaching your client base. Here are 10 reasons why you should scrap those plain text emails you've been sending your clients (hands up - who's guilty?) and get yourself a lovely html email designed instead:

1) TAILORED - They can be perfectly tailored to complement your existing business branding, by incorporating logos, colour schemes and style.

2) AWARENESS - Strengthen awareness. Remind clients about your business whilst reinforcing their already positive opinion, and bring yourself to the attention of potential new clients, by informing them of whom you are and what you do whilst subtly gaining their trust.

3) TARGETED - Using a sign-up system where people can manually request to receive your newsletters can be a successful way of targeting those who have already demonstrated an active interest in your company. As such, they are more likely to take notice of your well-designed email newsletter. It is very easy to get a sign-up box added to your website, and a homepage is the obvious ideal location. Gaining email addresses via this method can take a while, so another option available is to purchase a pre-prepared list containing relevant email contacts, which are available from various marketing organisations.

4) TRAFFIC - Increase traffic to your website. Email newsletters can be embedded with numerous 'call to action' links which click through directly to the relevant pages on your website, and these need to be carefully positioned to achieve optimum response. You can also include links to any business social network accounts you may have, e.g. Facebook and Twitter.

5) MEMORABLE - A custom designed email newsletter can be extremely engaging, informative, colourful and, ultimately, memorable! It will help ensure that a potential client remembers your business for all the right reasons.

6) PROFESSIONAL - They are so much more professional and credible than a bog-standard text email. An email newsletter that is professionally designed will instantly give a sense that you are a reputable company and this will gain trust for your business.

7) VERSATILE - They are very versatile in that email newsletters can contain information regarding new products, special and exclusive offers, articles and blogs, competitions, reviews, member events, and so much more that the list is almost endless.

8) SEASONAL - Think of just how many season-related events there are throughout the year: Christmas and New Year, Bank Holidays, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's and Father's Day, and Halloween, to name but a few, and many of these can be related to your business and used as a theme in an email newsletter. Plus 2012 has a few additional exciting events taking place in the UK, namely the London 2012 Olympic Games and The Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Both are the perfect excuse to think up some interesting promotions and let your customers know about them via an email newsletter.

9) MEASURABLE - You can measure the response to your emails using delivery statistics, which are usually provided in your email broadcast system's control panel. There are a number of online broadcasters available who provide this service, such as iContact, VerticalResponse and SimplyCast. This can be a helpful tool when analysing the success of and comparing your campaigns, enabling you to notice any patterns and establish which methods are working best for you.

10) AFFORDABLE - Previously you may have been put off getting an email newsletter custom designed for fear that it will cost a small fortune, but they can actually be quite reasonably priced, especially if you ask for the design to be produced as an editable template. For example, if you were to use an email template 12 times over a year, the average cost is then reduced dramatically. And you never know, if someone likes it enough they may even forward it on to a friend!

How to Build Your Own Opt In List

Building your own Opt In list

Every email marketer knows that Opt In list in the lifeline of email marketing. Email marketing is one of the most reliable ways of generating consistent free targeted traffic for your website or squeeze page.

Having your own list of email addresses can help you direct your subscribers to your product page. The conversion rate will be higher as these subscribers are the targeted audiences who have some degree of interest in your product.

Choosing the right Auto-responder

The two popular Auto-responders are Aweber and Getresponse. Both sites charge about $9.90 per monthly for their services.

Please do not consider using the free auto-responder as advertisements will be added to all your outgoing emails. This will distract or frustrate your targeted subscribers and the response rates to your emails will be lower.

You can also setup a dedicated server and install an auto responder script in your server. You save on the monthly auto-responders charges. However, you are also taking the risk of server failure which may result in loss of your Opt in list. Personally, I prefer to pay monthly charges to have a peace of mind and hassle free.

Landing Page

You will require a website (Landing page) for your visitors to subscribe. To encourage your visitors to subscribe, you should offer some free quality gifts to them such as a good content ebook. Try to minimize the number of fields in your subscriber form. The more fields that are required to be filled, the visitors will be less inclined to sign up. The recommended two fields are the Name and the Email address.

Double Opt In lists are more popular now because they provide extra security as subscribers must confirm their email address, but most people will likely to forget to complete this confirmation and sometime confirmation email goes to their email junk folder. This will result in lower active subscriber. You might prefer a single Opt in feature.

Traffic

Once your landing page is created and the emails are setup in the auto-responder, you need to drive traffic to your page. Creating videos and uploading to YouTube to create awareness of your page is a good way to generate traffic. Submitting your own content to article directories is also an effective to drive traffic to your site. Paying for SoloAds is also an effective and a faster way to gain subscribers.

A Beginner's Guide to Successful Email Marketing

Hi there, anyone in internet marketing knows that "building your list" is a vital ingredient to your long-term online success- that's a given, but in this article I want to lead those of you who have already developed a list (even if it's a bit early days & small in number) into how to and most importantly not to communicate with your list, the RIGHT and the WRONG way, so here goes?

Be Subtle In Your Email Marketing

Now we are all aware of email marketing, how it works and the real benefits of it for the Internet marketer and why you simply must be using it as one of your most important Internet marketing strategies and techniques. But beware and take into consideration your own experiences good and bad to make sure your own email marketing is structured correctly to get maximum effect and certainly not to alienate prospective customers.

The Wrong Way

Most of us will have submitted our email while visiting a website, and it's not long before you start hearing from the site with email updates, offers and sales pitches, sometimes you even receive emails and have absolutely no clue how they got to you and your email address.

As Internet users we are all faced with tons of emails telling us to buy this or that product. And if you're like most surfers out there you either ignore such mails, have them blocked by your spam filter or simply delete them un-opened. This is because emails that come, as blatant advertisements are annoying are seen for exactly what they are and hence the open rate is absolutely terrible, come on we've all been there, it drives me round the bend the amount we get.

It's not all wrong but ?..Wasteful

Now don't get me wrong there are many highly successful Internet marketers who have huge lists who just constantly apply the funnel system. Huge mailing to huge lists resulting in large numbers of unsubscribes but also many sales as well it has to be said. But it's very wasteful. There is the need to constantly be replenishing their databases - this is not only time consuming but expensive as well.

The Right Way

Now for most of us who are just starting out with limited time, funds etc it's really not possible to make use of the funnel effect and nor should you in my opinion. Look at it this way if you're developing a business you're going to be in it for the long term and therefore by definition you want customers who'll be come repeat customers especially if you've developed a presence in a small, tight niche

So to my mind the right way is to develop a good quality list of very loyal and extremely targeted individuals who'll trust your judgment and therefore keep coming back for more - I hope that makes sense.

2 Reasons Why You Should Be Tracking Email Open Rates And Split Testing For Optimal Results!

Are you tracking your email open rates?

Tracking email open rates should be a top priority in any email marketing campaign(s).

Driving targeted and qualified traffic will mean the difference in building a hyper responsive list of rabid buyers or a list of dead leads who rarely open your emails!

This one piece of analytical data alone can tell you at a glance how responsive your lists are to the emails you have forwarded to them.

Here's two reasons why you should be tracking email open rates:

Firstly, the results obtained from tracking your open email rates will give a percentage as to how many subscribers on average opened your emails. This is a direct indication as to the responsiveness of your list.

Building a responsive list is key.

The more people who actually open and read your emails, means they will see your links to your offers or promotions.

If you are building various lists within sub niches then you can track your email lists and compare the results to see which of your lists is producing the best results for you.

Secondly, tracking email open rates can also be used for split testing. In this case you would create two identical follow-up sequences for your auto-responder campaign.

So for example, you could use one of your main traffic sources and funnel the subscribers into list 1.

Then you could take another traffic source and funnel the other subscribers into list 2.

Assuming the lists are configured exactly the same, you will now be able to analyze which traffic sources are bringing you the most responsive subscribers by which list has the best open rate and click through rate when you send your emails.

You can also create segments in your list campaigns to filter the subscribers who don't open your emails after a certain period of time.

I routinely create a segment every two months and remove the subscribers who haven't opened my emails throughout that period.

This is a key component to building a solid foundation for your online business.

Don't get caught up in the mindset of "I need to drive more traffic, to make more sales!"

Dig deeper into your sales funnel before going wider!

Sometimes it's easier to work with a model or sales funnel you already have and tweak it for optimum conversion rates than it is to drive lots more traffic to your site.

A Bit About Marketing by Email

Internet communication has become so popular nowadays that it seems as if the more traditional forms of correspondence like the written letter are in danger of dying out. Needless to say, there will always be a place in society for the postal system but emailing is a very quick and convenient way of communicating whether it is for business or personal reasons. Given that email is such a handy form of communication it is not surprising that marketing by email has become a viable avenue for marketers to pursue.

What is more, people are so resistant to the plethora of so-called 'junk' mail they receive in their post boxes nowadays that most of it goes straight into the waste paper bin which is not good news for companies trying to advertise their products. Marketing by email, along with cellphone text-messaging, web display ads like banners and pop-ups, and websites that consumers are able to interact with, is a direct form of advertising just like the junk mail mentioned above. Unfortunately, because many forms of direct e-advertising are unsolicited they are in danger of falling into the category of spam and filtered out.

On the flip side, a direct advertising method like marketing by email has the advantage of being a form of communication that can be disseminated quickly and in bulk with the potential of reaching a very wide audience. Moreover, the marketer is able to measure how effective an email advertisement is by looking at the response rate, in other words, how many people responded to the email whereas with traditional methods of advertising like print ads it is a lot more difficult to determine the consumer response. With benefits such as this it is not surprising that marketers do not want their email marketing messages to be marked as spam.

One way to overcome the issues associated with unsolicited marketing by email being rejected as spam is to operate on a consensual basis. This is when the marketer asks for permission from the recipient to send them emails. That being said, the marketer does not simply want the consumer to agree to receive marketing by email but to actually read and respond to it, preferably with a purchase.

The email newsletter is one way of getting and keeping the attention of an email marketing recipient but there is a particular way to go about using an email newsletter for direct marketing purposes. The underlying concept of the newsletter, regardless of its format, is to impart not only news but lasting information as well. Now, this may sound like a contradiction in terms because news by its very nature tends to be current and implies a time restriction of some sort, especially when the news relates to advertising promotions. The concept of 'lasting information', on the other hand, suggests that the data needs to be valid for an indefinite period of time.

While it is very easy to adopt the same 'selling' stance in an email newsletter that is used in other forms of email marketing, the temptation to do so should be resisted in favour of imparting useful and lasting information as the primary aim of the email marketing newsletter is to build a relationship with a consumer by holding their interest as opposed to the blatant 'push' mentality of direct sales.

How To Build a List Step-By-Step

Email List building is one of the most important things you can do as an internet marketer. This may sound cliché but the fact of the matter is that the phrase "the money is in the list" can't be more true. If you have spent any amount of time researching internet marketing then you have surely heard this before. I'm here today to say it again but not only that, tell you a few of the secrets on how to build a massive email list and set yourself up to win.

An email list is the most valuable thing you will have when it comes to your internet marketing efforts. So when you get ready to start building your list you need to follow some pretty simple steps.

Step 1: Set up an Autoresponder Service

Your auto responder service is a company where you can plan to have certain email messages delivered to your subscribers at certain times. For example, if someone signs up to be a part of your list, you will have 20 pre-written emails which will go out to them over the course of the next few months. Perhaps each email will be sent 5 days apart. The autoresponder will automatically send these emails out for you. This is extremely important because you need to be able to convey your message to subscribers and build their trust. This is an easy way to connect with them.

Step 2: Entice them to Opt-In

The next step is getting a subscriber to opt in to your email list. This means that they give you permission to send them messages. This is important now because of the extreme amount of spam floating around the internet. The a few ways to do this would be.

· Offer a free report

· Offer a free eBook

· Offer an email course

Now the thing to remember here is that you want this to be something people would want. For instance if you are targeting people within the Dog Training niche then you could give away a free eBook on voice commands. This would be enticing to your audience and make them want to sign up for your list. You will want to make sure that the eBook offers some value to the customer. Now you may have heard that before, offer value. In Internet marketing always remember that value= useable information, motivation, or inspiration. If you can read something and it prompts you to act or solves a problem then it has value.

Step 3: Build Trust in your subscribers

The next key to this equation is to build trust with your subscribers. The best way to do that is to send them emails that do not readily ask them to buy something from you. This could make them feel like you are only out to make some money. Even though you are, you still want to establish a good relationship with them so that they will buy from you over and over again. One way to do this is to send out emails within your autoresponder that speak directly to your subscribers. Send them emails that offer tips for free or tell them certain things to do that will help their situation. For example, if you are in the dog training niche you could send out an email series that speaks about potty training a new puppy or how to introduce a new dog into your home. This would be something that Dog lovers would want to read and if you offer them good solid advice that works then they will start to trust you. Then when it's time to ask for a purchase they won't mind pulling out their credit card to buy from you.

Follow these steps and you will be on your way to building an impressive email list. I followed these exact steps and the steps in How to Build a List to build my email list and it has been one of the most profitable things I have ever done. 10 Email Marketing Campaign Tactics and Strategies

Majority of Internet users have email addresses so it's not surprising that email marketing still remains one of the top online promotion strategies available to businesses today. When running an online business, having an email marketing strategy is a necessity for establishing and continuing a relationship with customers and prospects. To ignore developing email marketing campaigns as a lead generation strategy will result in missed opportunities to offer product releases, promotions and newsletters, for example to subscribers.

Email marketing campaigns are an extension of your social media marketing campaigns and convert into sales well. It should be a mainstay in your online marketing toolbox.

Here are 10 tactics and strategies that you can follow to build better relationships with your prospects and customers via email marketing campaigns:

#1 Integrate your email marketing tactics into your social media marketing plan.

As you are being active on social media sites like Facebook, Google Places and Twitter, make it a point to invite subscribers to sign up for your newsletter and your blog. Promote them one post or tweet at a time. Be sure to schedule your subscription requests so that you don't inundate your fans and followers. Offering a content-based reward for sign-up is a good way to give your prospects and customers a free sample of the type of content they can expect to receive in the future from your brand.

#2 Build an email program that gives your messages the best chance of getting attention.

Cover technology, sign-up form optimization, permissions, welcome messages, preheaders, "share this" links, subject lines' testing, graphic rich HTLM-based creative design, and call-to-action. Routinely measuring the results of your email campaigns' open, forward, sent, bounce rates, link clickage and sales will allow you to create subsequent messages to segments within your subscribers who open your emails. You should monitor click-through and conversion rates, to determine what emails were deliverable or undeliverable, view unsubscribed contacts, track unsolicited customer complaints, compare message reports and export or download reports for analysis.

#3 Engage your email subscribers.

Don't just feed your subscribers with data and information. Allow them to interact with your content. Ask questions. Conduct polls. Offer an interactive game. Make your subscribers become part of your content by building a contest around your product or service.

#4 Contact your 'inactive' subscribers.

Your inactive subscribers may not be interacting with your messages but this doesn't mean that they don't exist or can't contribute to your relationship building. Try re-engaging them by revising how you present your email messages to them. Or better yet, ask them directly what they need or want to see in future editions and blog posts and incorporate your findings into your planning as quickly as possible.

#5 Create viral campaigns.

Use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to build hype for your viral campaigns that will lend themselves to building your email list. You can create contests where people can win prizes they value when they sign up to your newsletter. Through Facebook, the 'Like' button can be used to create a viral campaign by applying it to content, your brand and products. Viral campaigns need loyalty, opportunity for new customers and validation from existing customers. Using social plugins will help visitors stay longer and more engaged when their real identity and real friends are driving the experience.

#6 Set up landing pages.

This is one of the oldest tactics in email marketing. If done properly, this can drive a lot of active subscribers to your email newsletter. The key to success here is adding valuable content into your beautifully designed landing pages built with the goal of increasing conversions.

#7 Make every message you send out helpful.

If you think your readers won't find the message relevant, then don't send it. Quality is not the issue here. No matter how good the content, it's irrelevant if it does not appeal to your niche so be sure it is information they care about rather than things they don't know. Never use "filler" content just to justify a more frequent email schedule. Saving up and combining information into a weekly publication is best as long as your content is not time-sensitive.

#8 Determine your email frequency.

Just how often should you send out your emails? Every day? Monthly? Quarterly? If your business puts out new products and services on a regular basis, then it's but logical that you send email messages more frequently. Unless you have several thousand subscribers, random sampling and testing to obtain significant data to determine what your optimal email frequency should be can be difficult.

To maintain a status of 'regular' campaigns you will need to send email marketing campaigns at least one time per month. Remember the goal is to keep your brand in front of your reader's minds. Once per month is considered inside the timeline that your customers will remember you and when they make a purchasing decision, your brand will be what comes to mind.

Weekly email marketing campaigns is an effective frequency. Clickthroughs and opens drop dramatically once you get more frequent than weekly. Some larger companies have made their email campaign frequency research public, and showed that even dropping from twice per week down to once per week lowered unsubscribes by over 50% with more than an 80% increase in opens - and most importantly, higher sales as a result of the once per week frequency.

#9 Target mobile phone users with mini website creation.

Create landing pages and email subscription forms that are geared towards mobile phone users.

# 10 Provide value so your email will get a response.

In addition to learning more about your products/services your readers want to connect to the humans behind the brand. Give your readers what they want and they will keep on coming back for more. Value, however, isn't only created through a "functional transaction" (relevant offer, discount or coupon) but also through connecting emotionally.

By building emotional connections to your subscribers through what suits their needs and emotions you will be able to communicate in a style attractive to those who are interested in buying, reading and learning more. Add personality and an emotional connection to an email optimized for functional value and performance, for a formula that will keep people engaged.

Following the above email marketing tactics and strategies will increase your subscribers, boost interaction, and improve your conversion rates.
